Cherif Ndiaye scored to give Shanghai Port the first victory in the latest three Chinese Super League games, a 2-0 win over Shenzhen on Tuesday.

Chinese international Wu Lei returned to Shanghai Port from Spanish La Liga club Espanyol, but the 30-year-old striker wasn't in the active squad of the round.

In previous encounters against Shenzhen in the CSL, Shanghai Port averaged 3.3 goals per game. Although Shanghai Port dominated the first half, Shenzhen hold its rival at bay before the half break.

At the beginning of the second half, Ndiaye's header almost put Shanghai Port ahead, but his goal was canceled by the VAR. Ten minutes later, the 26-year-old striker forced Shenzhen center-back Pei Shuai into contributing an own goal, and broke the deadlock.

In the 69th minute, Ndiaye could have enlarged the advantage, but his powerful header found the crossbar. The Senegalese helped his team take a 2-0 lead in the 72nd minute after having an outstanding performance in the box. Shenzhen failed to pull one back before the final whistle.

On Monday, Yang Fan of Tianjin Jinmen Tiger and Sun Jie of Changchun Yatai were each shown a direct red card for their conflict in the match. On Tuesday, the two received the punishments from their respective team.

Yang was fined 200,000 yuan and Tianjin stopped training and paying him, prohibiting him from competing. Sun was fined 300,000 yuan and couldn't take apart in any competitions or training sessions temporarily.

Four CSL games are scheduled on Wednesday, including the clash between the bellwether Wuhan Three Towns and the third-placed Henan Songshan Longmen.
